Dear Family & Friends,
Monday: It was a pretty boring day. The Salem Elders came up, and we played a game called “Super Munchkin”. It was an interesting game, but I don’t think I would want to play this game again. I tried looking for snakes in the woods behind our apartment, but I didn’t see anything besides squirrels and Rabbits.
Tuesday: I ran over an Armadillo today…
(This all happened in 15 seconds.)
We were driving on a 2-lane road through a forest, at about 45mph, and an Armadillo walked out on the road just ahead of the car. I slowed down a bit, honked, and the Armadillo stopped in the middle of the lane. I was going to go into the other lane, but a car came around the corner, which disabled that plan. I couldn’t go around on the outside of the road, because there was a 2-foot drop off going down into a ditch. SO, I hit the brakes(got an aggressive driving) and maneuvered the car so the Armadillo would go under the car where it had enough room to avoid getting crushed. I went over it, and I felt a bump/heard a crunch.
(This is normal time)
I stopped the car, pulled to the side of the road, and looked back to where the Armadillo was. It was spinning/flipping around on it’s back and spazzing out. I thought it was alive, so I ran back to flip it over. But when I got to it, I realized that a very important part of the Armadillo was missing! I will purposefully neglect to say what was missing, but wild guesses are encouraged! I had to put it out of it’s misery, cause there was no way it would survive.
I feel bad that I killed it, even though there was nothing I could have done to save it. I’m gonna try to avoid killing things from now on.
Wednesday: Nothing interesting happened
Thursday: Brilliant tie day!
We were teaching a lesson to an investigator at a part-member house. When the dad walked up with a big box. He said, “Hi” and walked into the next room. He walks backwards into the room, and looks at us. He got a big grin on his face, and asked us if we wanted any ties. We told him that we love getting ties! Even more than Dads like getting ties for Father’s day, a birthday, and Christmas! He set the box on the table, and told us that we could have as many ties we wanted from the box! That box was filled to the brim with ties, and we walked outta there with enough ties to drown us in a river if we ever fell in! We didn’t take all of the ties though, some of them were really ugly. But I wasn’t going to say anything...
I love people who willingly give of what they have! He didn’t have to give us those ties, but I’m grateful that he shared with us.
Friday: We had Zone Training Meeting today, as well as an interview with our dear President Shumway! I learned a lot about inspired questions, and how to properly apply them. I got my birthday present from my family today! It was a GPS! Exactly what I needed to get around this country town! Now I can never get lost with this bad boy!
Also, I love to sing. I’m pretty sure most of my family knows that. I’ve been going nuts for the past 4 months(I just counted that in my head, and it punched me in the face! I’ve been out for 4 months! The time is flying by! Sorry, this seems big in my mind...), because I haven’t been able to properly flex my singing muscles and I might be getting out of practice. So, I asked Sister Shumway if I could sing at Zone Conference on the 20th and she said yes! I’m super pumped to sing and Elder Densley from Salem is going to sing with me. I’ve sorta decided on singing ‘How Great Thou Art’ but it’s still up in the air.
Saturday: Nothing interesting happened today, besides the excessive quantity of squirrels everywhere. I have noticed that there are a lot of grey squirrels, and no red squirrels. I wonder if it’s because grey squirrels are racist and they attack red squirrels cuz they’re “different”.
Sunday: I had a terrifying experience that happened today. Don’t worry! I survived! But I do not have enough time to write it today. I will send it at a later time...
I love you all!
