Dear Family & Friends,
This week was so much better than last week. We set a baptismal date with our investigator for the 28th of May, and she is so excited! We also have a cool black lady, who we're planning on meeting with later today. She didn't want us coming over after 7, cuz there's a gang that hangs out down the street after the sun sets. So I guess she's nice enough to be watching out for us! I'm hoping and praying that she feels the Holy Ghost and receives that witness of the truthfulness of the message we are going to share with her!
We spent a large portion of this week looking for members who moved into the area, and never came to church. So far, we've only found one. But we know the general area of the other people, so I know that we're close to finding them.
Okay, story time:
We were going to knock on all the doors in an apartment complex, where a Less-Active member supposedly lives. We didn't know which one they lived in. So we knocked on the first door and a small child opened the door. I asked him if his parents were home. He said no. I asked him if the [insert last name] lived here. He said no, pointed up, and told us they live in the apartment upstairs. He looked out towards the parking lot, and said their car wasn't there so they weren't home. Then this old lady inside the apartment started yelling at the small child for opening the door and talking to strangers. We tried to confirm with her that it was the [insert last name] that lived above her. But she said we didn't need to know that, and to go away. Then she slammed the door.
We knocked on the upstairs door, but nobody answered. So I'm pretty sure that small child was right. We're going to try back later in the evening next time, so hopefully they'll be there. The records say they just moved here 2 months ago, and I wouldn't think they would move out too quickly.
God bless!
I love you all! Have a wonderful week!
