Dear Family and Friends,
Everything is going great! I'm not dead, nor was I carried off by a tornado! We had a crazy storm over the weekend, and we had some flash floods around our apartment. But I did have some fun in the rain.
We had an interesting experience this week. We were teaching a Less Active Member, and she has a homeless guy staying with her. We had never met the guy before, but we knew his name was W. Anyways, we were teaching a lesson and this little black guy walks in the front door. Well, he wasn't really walking. It was more of a shuffle.
I said hi and he looked at me. I say "looked" loosely, because he had a lazy eye. So as he was looking at me with one eye, he was looking at my companion with the other (and my companion was sitting in a chair 6 feet to my right). I can't really properly describe what he said to me, but it was pretty off the wall. It involved being nailed to a cross, Crusaders, Jews, Jesus, and not just talkin' the talk but walkin' the walk. It was some pretty crazy stuff.
But at the end, his eyes snapped together and he said, "Gentlemen, I bid thee good night." and then he walked out. I'm not even sure what he came in for in the first place! He didn't grab anything! He just stood awkwardly close to me and said some crazy things while looking at my companion with his crazy eye.
The ghetto part of our area is pretty cool though. Whether it's talking to crazy people down there, or crazy people finding and talking to us, I know that I'll always have fun on Southwest Boulevard in South Tulsa.
I love y'all! Have a merry week!
