Dear Family & Friends,
This week has been really long and boring, but I hope that you will bear with me.
Monday: We played some basketball, and I played with some snakes again. I love the Reptile Museum! Most of the animals inside are rescued. The guy who runs it is super cool, and says that, if I come back after my mission, he'll cut me a deal on a snake!
Tuesday: Our apartment got checked, and we don't have bedbugs anymore!!! :D
Now we just have to wait for a member to give us some furniture that they don't need anymore.
Wednesday: Our apartment manager is so awesome! They heard that we didn't have any beds, (and were basically sleeping on the ground) so they brought us all of the furniture from an abandoned apartment that they owned! There was a full living room/couch set, and a dining room set.
I got a queen size mattress, and our ward mission leader brought a twin size mattress for Elder P the next day.
Thursday: We helped a member put up some insulation in the attic of the house he's building. It was really hot and we didn't even get 1/4 of the attic done! So, we're gonna come back and help him again on Saturday.
Afterwards we went to a super sketchy Chinese Buffet (run by Mexicans), called OK Chinese Buffet. I stayed close to the Orange Chicken and the Shrimp. But I ventured out a little and tried the fried octopus. They were ok until I found one that still had it's beak on it. Then I was too grossed out to eat anymore.
Friday: It was a very uninteresting, you don't want to hear about any of it. Seriously, you don't.
Saturday: We helped that member put more insulation up. But this time we had help from the 2nd ward missionaries. We put up more than half of the insulation, and we re-wired an extension cord so we could have 2 fans blowing cold air into the house. It was great!
I am so grateful for the generosity of the people in my life. They make serving a mission easier, and I pray that I will be given more opportunities (and time) to serve them to a better extent.
