Dear Family & Friends,
This week has been a long and really rough one.
Monday: We spent most of the day cleaning and buying stuff that we need. The previous Elders left us with practically nothing, so we had to go buy a lot of food. And then, to top it all off, we had to buy a ton of plastic wrap to wrap up our mattresses and box springs.
We went to a Reptile Museum and I got to play with snakes for an hour. I had a lot of fun!
Our dinner never got back to us so Elder P fried up some fantastic chicken! We ate good tonight!
Tuesday: We spent most of the day cleaning, packing, and vacuuming our apartment. We got out to see some people, but nobody had a lot of time to listen to us.
Wednesday: Again, packing and cleaning. Dinner canceled and Elder P made Fried Chicken again.
Thursday: Packed all of our stuff in the car, and went to the laundromat. Spent a good 2 hours there, running all of our clothes through their machines. Hopefully it kills all of the bedbugs.
We were going to stay with the Fayetteville 2nd Ward Elders, but the member they're staying with said that they didn't want bedbugs at their house. I think it's totally understandable that they didn't want bedbugs. It's a big gamble to let us stay there, and hope that we don't have any bedbugs on us!
So we stayed with a member that Elder Porter knew from when he served here before. I'm grateful that he was able to give us a place to stay on such short notice!
Friday: We spent our day going around town and talking to people. We got to meet a bunch of the people that the previous Elders had been teaching. Got a couple lessons in, which was great! Didn't get back to our apartment until 9:30ish, and we were too tired to clean. So we went to bed early.
Saturday: We got up early, and spent all of today vacuuming, and scrubbing the walls. We had to go get some air fresheners because our apartment smelled terrible. Our apartment is on it's way to full cleanliness, but it's gonna be a few weeks before we can fully enjoy it.
I am sorry if this week seems super boring. It's been really hard to do any real Missionary work, but I am excited for this coming week when I can focus on the things that can change someone's life for the better!
